This festive season, there are lots of things to do in and around Bakewell. There's the Chatsworth Christmas Market from runs to 26 November and the Mercatum Christmas Artisan Market at Haddon Hall with remaining dates of Thursday 30 November – Sunday 3 December and Thursday 7-10 December.

Hartshill (sleeps 5+2) and Ribblesdale (sleeps 5+2) are adjoining stone-built holiday houses situated just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the thriving market town of Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District.  They are suitable for families or friends at any time of year and if booked together can accommodate groups of up to 14. The houses are well-equipped, centrally-heated and furnished to a high standard but they are not equipped for the disabled. Each house has free Wi Fi, off-road parking for two cars, well laid-out gardens with patio area and secure storage for bicycles and outdoor gear. 

Bakewell is the perfect base for a variety of activities, whether walking, cycling, visiting nearby stately homes (such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall) and other attractions, or just relaxing in wonderful peaceful surroundings. The town is full of character, with a wide range of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, parks and gardens and a large outdoor market every Monday, including Bank Holidays.  Bakewell hosts a number of annual festivals, including the Bakewell Carnival, the Bakewell Show, the Bakewell Arts Festival and the Bakewell Acousitc Music Festival.
